ITC (Institute of Ceramic Technology)

This centre is a global point of reference and a pioneer in the university-business cooperation system for more than 50 years, transferring technology and knowledge to companies for sustainable growth

Strategic Lines:

  • Buildings and cities: ceramic material with high added value and low environmental impact for buildings, seeking resilience against climate change.
  • Personalisation of products and services that are highly valued in terms of their design and differentiated features, according to people’s needs.
  • Materials: generation of knowledge for the development of materials with new properties and functionalities.
  • Eco-innovation: Recycling, reusing, and recovering waste, optimising water resources in the ceramics industry.
  • Hypo-carbon industry: manufacturing processes that incorporate low-carbon technologies to achieve industrial decarbonisation.
  • Industrial Processes: new technologies in the ceramics industry such as digitalisation, Digital Twins, robotics, AI, etc.
  • Environmental health: mitigation measures to reduce industrial impact on the environment and human health, while ensuring the sustainability of industrial processes.

    Espaitec | Science and Technology Park of the University Jaume I of Castelló

    This exemplary technology hub in the province of Castellón promotes entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, and knowledge transfer in society. It is home to more than 50 technology-based companies with a strong innovative character linked to the Park, generating 464 qualified jobs, including 299 men and 165 women.
